Library Design

We were assigned the task of designing a library for ILS 562, School Library Media Centers. I found this task to be extremely enlightening, as it exposed me to the effects of different design techniques for a library of any type. We were forced to examine every square inch of a physical library space to maximize the effectiveness of the facility. I personally included information on everything from library shelf height, to wall color. Another interesting part of the project was to research the selection and purchase of materials for a mini-grant. On the personnel side of the task, I designed job descriptions for all accompanying library staff.
