| <1> It's in the arena of subtle distinctions where genuine glory is given either to God or to man. And these distictions are most often made in the heart. <2> When we realize that who we are is by grace and what we will become is by grace, and everything we find that is good in ourlives is by grace, it will make us a far more humble people, and therefore, a far more God glorifying people. May the watching world say about God, "He must be a great God if He can do that in that person's life!" <3> the chief and ultimate aim of the Supreme Being [God]... was the manifestation of His own glory in the highest happiness of His creatures. |

| The phrase "mutual edification" literally means to build each other up. This is the eternal building program of the church. Every interaction with a brother or sister should be marked by growth. This is mutual edification. Instead of tearing down the church through judgment and a critical spirit, we are to follow God's blueprint for growth by loving and caring for one another. |
