-Chicken Barn- -3D Model- August 2003 SUMMARY Using AutoCAD and a tape measure, I modelled one of the chicken barns on my parent's farm. It was a fun project, something to do during the time off between school and work. THis was good practice to improve my AutoCAD skills and to improve my 3D modelling skills. I find it takes practice to build 3D models, because visualizing what you are doing is sometimes quite difficult, especially if the model is complex. For the chicken bard I had to ensure that my arrays started at the correct point, otherwise the rest of my measurements would have been off. Eventually I want to use this model for a more advanced project, so it had to be fairly accurate. A robot that cleans the chicken barns would be nice, wouldn't it? I only have a few, limited ideas at this point. Hopefully with more education it will become one of my future projects.
