My Final Prayer

Shattered glass, shattered dreams,
Shattered lives, piercing screams,
Shattered love, which loved hates worst,
Shattered family, seemingly cursed.

Final thoughts, final prayers,
Hoping that you knew I cared,
Sorrow filling a shattered home,
So many for comfort, yet I am alone.

A year of sorry sad goodbyes,
A house that's built on longing cries,
A laughing front, a crying heart,
A brightening future, left in the dark.

From clouds behind comes rain ahead,
Leaving happiness I once lived, lying dead.
