The Editors invite authors to submit manuscripts that advance conceptual understanding of historical and contemporary policy actions in relation to gender planning, strategic gender needs and women's contribution to Cameroon's economic development. Manuscripts may be historical, conceptual, or empirical in nature. Consistent with a multidisciplinary perspective and openness to multiple methods of inquiry, the Editors welcome a variety of views and approaches. Possible topics include, but are not limited to: 1. Health Policy and Gender Planning in Cameroon: Meeting Practical and Strategic Gender Needs 12. Cameroon Women and the Information Age: A New Window of Opportunity 13. Achieving Good Governance: The Essential Participation of Women 14 Global Social Movements, International Economic Institutions and the Cameroonian Woman 15. Common Fate, Common Bond: Women in the Industrialised Countries, Lessons and the Journey Ahead for the Cameroon Woman "Gender, Public Policy and Economic Development: Enhancing the Contribution of Women in the Development Process in Cameroon" (Molua, E.L. and E.W. Gobina, eds) examines the roles of the Cameroon woman in Economic development. It brings to light the urgency and need to invest in Cameroon's future by imbibing policy mechanisms, framework and institutions that not only discontinue the subordiantion and domestication of women, but also reduce gender inequalities and enshrine the possibility for increased productive accumulation by women. The book thus derives policy actions for appropriate gender planning, strategic gender needs and insure women's contribution to Cameroon's economic development. Deadline for submissions of Abstracts: September 1, 2003 Deadline for submissions of Full/Completed Paper: January 30, 2004 Submit one (1) copy of each manuscript along with a diskette containing the manuscript in Word format. The author’s name should not appear anywhere except on the cover page - since the double blind review process will be employed. The author should keep an extra, exact copy for future reference.
