..SCENEfest..
Home
Too good to be forgotten.. too stupid to be reminded of.. : )
It all started on a nice Sunday morning, July 11th, when we decided to tell Jamie's parents she was going to sleep at my house, play games, and join them back at home just as she left. Quiet, and sophisticated.
At 2:30p.m. on the same day, Me, Jamie, my brother; Eric, and his previous girlfriend; Kayli, waltzed our asses down to Market Square to grab $15 dollar wrists bands and enjoy the rest of our day apart from each other. Even though we were told countless times to stay together. On the way to Market Square, we stopped at a store called Anthony's Variety. Where I believe Jamie got Root Beer, and I got a Citrus 7Up. Good stuff. Then we continued on our journey.
Once me and Jamie obtained our wristbands, as well as our free SCENEfest CD's.. we walked around Market Square for about 20 minutes, I allowed myself to buy the new alexisonfire CD, and then we were on our way.
First, we went to Lynx. Saw about half of the Midway State show, while sitting. Before finding that Dallas Green was playing next, and booting up to the speakers. There was complications during Dallas' show, which was a big disappointment, so we left.
We headed to Big Buck's where I heard Jude the Obscure would be playing. While we waited there was the 20 minute minute pack up for the previous band, and in those 20 minutes, Jude also had to get ready. Tight squeeze. Jude played, me and Jamie loveed it. And we found later, Eric, at this time, was at the MDM show. Another good band. While Jude played, me and Jamie moshed. Jamie managed to lose her show twice. And I managed to get elbowed in the face. Lucky me. We also noticed everytime the screamer in Jude screamed.. he'd grab his ass. Luck him. haha.
We left Big Buck's after the Jude show only to head over to L3, where Sleeper Set Sail would be playing. We had to get from Big Bukc's to L3 in 15 minutes, and they are 5 blocks away from each other. Go us. Surprisingly, we got there in time. And after the show started, about 5 minutes in, we left. In that 5 minutes though, me and Jamie managed to meet a guy named Aaron. And his friends.. Mellisa and Zack I believe. Jamie ended up having a conversation about shampoo with them before we left. Leaving our CD's with my brother (whom we foud in L3). We found out later the guitarist, in Sleeper Set Sail,  passed out from lack of oxygen. He was wearing layers and well.. passed out.
Me and Jamie decided to go back to Big Buck's because we were actually allowed to mosh there, and because it was just.. better. Plus, we'd be early for the alexis show, so we could work our way to the front. (Somehow we managed to get to the back.) On the walk over there, we stopped in at Pizza Pizza, but ended up getting two pops? I don't remember how we ended up with pops, but we each had one and we sat against the brick wall of some antigue shop for about 10-20 minutes. When we started walking again, we saw Brad Halliday, whom gave me the finger and told me he loved me. (I love you too, Brad.)
While we were at Big Bucks, we managed to see the bands Policies and Procedures, Silverstein, Blue Skies At War, Big Collapse, Alexisonfire, and A Day and A Deathwish.
While in the Policies and Procedures show, well, after it.. we were allowed to go up on stage, meet the band, grab a promo CD, maybe a button or two.. well.. I grabbed the bands guitar case keys. I didn't mean to, it just happened. And when I decided to give them back, the band was already gone. Schucks. I still have those keys as to this day. Yesh..
When I found out I had taken those keys, I also found 10 bucks at the booth we were sitting at. (Imagine that, I found 10 bucks in Big Buck's!)
Yea.. and then came.. 3 shows. Very good bands. Well, I didn't like Big Collapse. But oh well..
Then there was alexis. Good God. Non-stop moshing. lmao Jamie. Some old lady forced us back into the mosh pit after desperately trying to get out of the mosh pit. Then we found a very big, bulky Indian guy who was nice enough to help me and Jamie crowd surf by throwing us into the crowd. I kicked someone in the head the first time. (I'm sorry) and the second time, I landed on my head. (I found the boy who caught me and made sure I was ok! Thanks Tim! If it wasn't for you, I would have landed on my head!) When Jamie crowd-surfed, she kicked me in the head (thank you Jamie). Once again we moshed, got stepped on, bruised and broken. Yes, I broke a toe. Go me. I managed to find Brad in the crowd, which was amazing seeing it was a basic sweat shop where you couldn't go anywhere without touching at least 4 people, and I got squished into him for awhile. It wasn't that bad, at least he didn't smell like sweat. And pizza. And pop. And.. sweat.
Once alexisonfire had finished playing, we grabbed some ice and ran out to meet the band. George now loves me and Jamie, because we gave him a very large cup filled with ice. Dallas, who was sitting near the trailer, had to have a long talk about how me and Jamie were now his best friends and he didn't need to give us autographs because being his friend was so much better. I'm proud. lol.
After our nice, long conversations, we ran in Big Buck's to catch the last of the Day and A Deathwish show, and then starting walking home.
We found a band, Bear vs. Shark, who were sitting there drunk outside a restaurant and tried trading weed for a night with me and Jamie. haha. No. "My knee is only 16.." lmao Jamie! And I supposably married the drummer? I don't know about that. Well, we carried on our walk.
Eric saw the sausage stand.. and begged me to buy him 2 sausages with the 10 dollars I had found earlier. I did. 'Cause I'm such a nice little sister.
We sat at a parking garage for about 20 minutes, where Eric went inside and pissed in the stairwell. Good stuff Eric.
When we were walking down Queenmston street, we met up with some punks. I don't remember their names.. but Jamie  asked them what kind of shampoo they used. Why? I don't know. Just did.
We smashed plates from the Goodwill box, knocked over a mailbox and stole real estate and WeedMan signs. By the time we were home, it was 3:30 a.m. and there was NO way me and Jamie were sleeping that night. So we sat awake and listened to the Scene CD's and the Policies and Procedures Promo CD we had gotten .Who knew Dallas Green could make such a good tribute? Good job boy, good job.
In the morning, at about 8:00, me and Jamie went to the park and played on the half broken swings for a little while. Then, we returned to my house, ate lunch and she was taken away by her parents. : (

Anyways, that's the REAL story about everything that went on at Scene. Well, I think that's everything. I'll get Jamie to check it over and see. Hope you enjoyed. : ) Now go do something better with your time!
