Artifacts
It seems that when we're not out collecting fossils or minerals we spend
our time digging in the dirt for pieces of pottery and other old broken
bits. (Just can't keep our hands out of the ground.) These
pages include artifacts from two locations: A Two thousand year old garbage
heap left over from one of the ancient ports in Rome. (I understand the
site has now been closed to the public.) And an Huron Indian Village near
Lake Simcoe which was documented by Samuel de Champlain in the early 1600's.
Here are some photographs. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Most
of the photographs include a scale, which is in inches.
I have made an effort to make these pages easy to download by restricting
the size of the image files. A thumbnail page will load first for each
location. If you want to see a larger image, click on the small image.
