She makes hats, scarves and other warm garments for the local homeless shelter. Every year she makes an assortment of garments and then gives them to the homeless shelter on Christmas Eve. It must be a wonderful present for all the homeless people there. Last year she did baby clothes, this year she is doing mittens, and she plans to do sweaters, socks, scarves, hats, blankets, and others in the future. She knits and crochets all the things, and sometimes makes up her patterns. But it doesn't matter how they are made, it matters that they are made at all. She spends a lot of her time working on these things, and her message is this:
I make some things for homeless people, and you can too. Even if you can barely make a scarf, I'm sure someone will really appreciate it.
She calls her little program Warm Hats, Warm Hearts. Notice I said little program. We want it to grow. Get more people involved. So just try it and see how it goes.
