| TO SEW THE ELEPHANT Fold on dotted lines, just to get a feel for how to put the elephant together. Turn inside out; fold elephant again (right side faces in). Using thin grey yarn, sew the needed seams using overstitch (sometimes called whipstitch). Remember to leave a small opening. Turn inside in through the opening and stuff. Inconspicuously sew up opening. To sew on ears, find the right place. Set on the body and slightly curve edges forward. Sew on. Finger crochet or crochet a tail, and sew on. Weave in all the ends. Now stand back and admire your work! Note: The elphant pattern on the LSA page is incredibly versatile. With the right tweaks, it can be made into almost anything. Sans trunk but with stuffed ears? Bear! Sans trunk with pointy ears? Cat! See what I mean? |
