Emmian History
Slavery
Long ago, there were slaves in Emmia. There were 1,000 in each wealthy house. The rooms were very cramped. The bedrooms were only 40 feet square, yet they fit 100 beds. This was done by stacking beds on each other, called bunks. In the working room, there was a couch, a rocking chair, a medium-size table, windows and many wood chairs. Each slave sat on the objects. The owners of the slaves treated them harshly, but they tried to make the slaves as comfortable as they could, otherwise their work would not be as good.

Farming
There were, and still are, farms in Emmia. There was every animal you can name, from cats to snakes, everything in between, and lots more interesting animals! Their ink was made of soot, and it got on your fingers and you made fingerprints. There is an almost extinct animal, called the leonten, which can be trained to pull a cart, be ridden, and can gallop 105  FEET  in the air!!! Another animal, called the gallamato, is very similar to the Katian geezbo: It has a horse?s neck & head, snake?s stomach, cat?s tail, and dogs? feet. The animal with the longest name is this: the qwertyggnbcdnhnghjgdvgthtfghdgghbhhfhhfghfhhfgrfbjshytdgdbvxfngghhffsfvvcdghjgtf.
That?s pretty long! Women often got together to have cleaning or quilting bees. When there was a corn-husking party, everyone attended--they were so fun!
