To reveal Thai Festival out to the world, an organization should start broadband advertising. We should start our own online radio and television station to promote our beauty of Thai festivals. Once our organization has our own online radio or television station, we can do many things. Primarily we can put our station on our website. When we have decision to put our station on our website, now it's time to think what to be on website. Definitely we cannot put everything that we on air on a station on our website. Basic program on website for audio can be: songs that are played in Thai festivals, announcement on next festival. For television can be the sample of festivals, the surrounding and mood of a festival.
To start an online radio station or be a broadcaster
First Step: Getting Audio Audio can be got from anywhere. We can get from our own CD or tape. We also can record from real events. For example, our organization wants to put festival songs into our website, we either get from CD or record from the real festival. Tools For Audio, we may have a CD as a tool. Unless if we want to record from real event, we might need a microphone , speaker , portable mixer , wind filter , for example.
Second Step: Editing Once we have an audio which might be recorded from real events. Sometimes it needs to be edited. For example, when we recorded sound from the festival. The thing we want is only the music and mood. But in fact, there is noise all over, we need to edit those things. Tools Several software provided for editing sound, such as Pro tools , Sonic Foundry Sound forge . These two software are recommended for editing audio. Pro tools allow us not only editing sound. We can even create a song using this program. We can mix the voice, sound together. This is for professional level. Sonic Foundry Sound Forge is appropriate for beginners. It allows you to edit and also put together sound, voice as Pro tools but the layout and commands are easier to use.
Third Step: Putting Online When we have recorded sound that we want, then we have edited. Now sound that we want is completely done and ready to put on online station. Tools To set up an online radio station, we need to locate a server. We can find someone to run for. But we'd better set up our own server. With technology's today, we can use software such as Shout cast or Real radio pass to locate a server. This software helped us to locate a server. Shout cast is used together with Winamp Plug-in . When audiences want to tune into our station, user must have viewer such as Windows media player, Winamp, Real player, QuickTime.

First Step: Video Video file can be downloaded from a server or captured from video CD or DVD. But we as an organization should have our original video. Therefore, we must have a video camera. Tools Video camera that we commonly use today is digital video camera. In the past we used film video camera. With digital format will make it easier to use or edit. There are several companies provide digital camera. Two top digital camera companies are: Sony is the best known of electronics. Not only digital video camera that they provide. They also provide a digital camera, laptop. JVC is the one that is commonly used for common users. With its lower price and not many different capabilities, this brand becomes well known.
Second Step: Recording When we have a digital video camera, now we are ready to record. Tools To record a festival event, we are known the schedule of the festival. We can plan ahead what we want to record. For better quality, we may need some professional tools that are not just digital video camera. We need a camera stand , light and effects , portable mixer , we also need more than one camera.
Third & Fourth Step: Transferring & Editing After we have got a video camera, we did recording. Now it's time to transfer video that we had recorded on to a computer and ready to edit. Tools When everything is ready and it's time to transfer our video onto a computer to edit. There are two common ways to transfer using devices called “ IEEE 1394 ” which is commonly used and fast and “ USB ” which is old and slower. Most new digital video camera is required to use port IEEE 1394 but computer for couple years ago would not have this port or device built in. This is new technology that provides a better quality of transferring video files. Once we have transferred the video onto our computer in these formats: .avi, .mov, we can edit with Windows Software like Windows Movie Maker (provide in Windows XP). User can also use Adobe after Effects to edit video files. This software allows us to add effects on our video and edit as professional do. Or using Adobe Premiere: with this software, we cannot only edit using this software. When we have a device connect between our camera and computer, we can use this software to transfer. For those two (Windows Movie Maker & Adobe after Effects) applications above need some software else that might be provided with video camera packages to transfer video clip into file format as stated above.
Fifth Step: Putting Online Once everything is ready, we need to put our station online to finish. Tools Real time communication tools make television online possible. Same thing as start to broadcast an online radio station, we need a server. The other two common are Meet software and MCU hardware . When we have a station, that's not enough. For audience to view a station, they must also have an application which can be Winamp, QuickTime, Real player.
