A probability found by dividing the number of desired output possible by the total number of output (favorable or unfavorable) available.
For example:
If we want to find the probability that we could roll a four on a single six-sided die without actually rolling the die, this would be a theoretical probability.
P(event) = number of times event can occur / total number of events possible
In this case, four appears on the die only
once & the total possible scores are :1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
P(4) = 1/6 or 1 out of six chances is the
theoretical probability.
