� SC Resolution 1402 (2002) of 30 March 2002 [Adopted by a vote of 14-0-0 (Syria did not take part in the vote)]
Reaffirming resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1973), 1397 (2002) and the Madrid principles. Expressing grave concern at the further deterioration of the situation, including the recent suicide bombings in Israel and the military attack against the headquarters of the president of the Palestinian Authority. Calls upon both parties to move immediately to a meaningful cease-fire; calls for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Palestinian cities, including Ramallah; and calls upon the parties to cooperate fully with Special Envoy Zinni, and others, to implement the Tenet security work plan as a first step towards implementation of the Mitchell Committee recommendations, with the aim of resuming negotiations on a political settlement. Reiterates demand in resolution 1397 for immediate cessation of all acts of violence, including all acts of terror, provocation, incitement and destruction.

� SC Resolution 1403 (2002) of 4 April 2002 [Adopted unanimously]
Reaffirming resolutions 1397 (2002) and 1402 (2002). Gravely concerned at the further deterioration of the situation on the ground and noting that resolution 1402 has not yet been implemented. Demands implementation of resolution 1402 without delay. Welcomes the mission of the U.S. Secretary of State to the region, as well as efforts by others, in particular the special envoys from the U.S., Russia, EU and the U.N. Special Coordinator, to bring about a comprehensive, just and lasting peace to the Middle East. Requests the Secretary-General to follow the situation and keep the Council informed.

� SC Resolution 1405 (2002) of 19 April 2002 [Adopted unanimously]
Concerned by the dire humanitarian situation of the Palestinian civilian population, in particular reports from the Jenin refugee camp of an unknown number of deaths and destruction. Calling for the lifting of restrictions imposed, in particular in Jenin, on the operations of humanitarian organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. Stressing the need for all concerned to ensure the safety of civilians, and to respect the universally accepted norms of international law. Emphasizes the urgency of access of medical and humanitarian organizations to the Palestinian civilian population. Welcomes the initiative of the Secretary-General to develop accurate information regarding recent events in the Jenin refugee camp through a fact-finding team and requests him to keep the Security Council informed.

� SC Resolution 1435 (2002) of 24 September 2002 [Adopted by a vote of 14-0-1 (U.S. abstained)] Condemning all terrorist attacks against any civilians, including the terrorist bombings in Israel on 18 and 19 September 2002 and in a Palestinian school in Hebron on 17 September 2002. Gravely concerned at the reoccupation of the headquarters of the President of the Palestinian Authority in the City of Ramallah that took place on 19 September 2002 and demanding its immediate end. Alarmed at the reoccupation of Palestinian cities as well as the severe restrictions imposed on the movement of persons and goods, and gravely concerned at the humanitarian crisis being faced by the Palestinian people. Reiterating the need for respect in all circumstances of international humanitarian law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention. Reiterates its demand for the complete cessation of all acts of violence. Demands that Israel immediately cease measures in and around Ramallah, including the destruction of Palestinian civilian and security infrastructure. Demands also the expeditious withdrawal of the Israeli occupying forces from Palestinian cities towards the return to positions held prior to September 2000
