Alpha Angels Incorporated
Northern Illinois Univesity Chapter

Chapter History

Historical Overview

At the end of the 1960's, Alpha Angels took Northern Illinois University's campus by storm. The organization was motivated, positive and respected. The women of Alpha Angels Inc. at NIU were not only involved with their organization’s community service platform, they were also members and leaders in various other student organizations. For a short period of time, the Alpha Angels on Northern's campus took a break in membership enrollment. The enrollment resumed in April of 1997 with the birth of the Angel line S.S. 24-7. This is due to the efforts of our Angel Mother and Big Sister Amber "Lady Isis" Wilkins from Eastern Illinois University and assistance from one sister from our own 31 Flavors Line - Big Sister Erika Martinez affectionately named Lil’ Mama. This group of Angels consisted of 22 ladies.

Our Promise

To be respectful of the legacy that is Alpha Angels. It is a legacy rooted in the traditions of service and excellence. Women who become members of Alpha Angels Incorporated strive for Sisterhood, Strength, Service, Support, Scholarship and Love. The traditions of the Angels have been passed down for over four decades.

With this new phase of Alpha Angels Incorporated becoming a national entity, our beloved organization can take an even stronger presence in our collegiate communities as well as our respective homes. The continued struggle to have Alpha Angels Incorporated become and stay a reality is by virtue of hard work, and dedication from the entire sisterhood.
