My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is completely centered around the students.  Their success is what my teaching job is all about.  I want to create a learning environment that is comfortable for the students but they will need to work hard.  I plan on teachng the students how to effectively become a hard working citizen.  They can not plan on having grades or anything else handed to them, they need to work for it.  I want them to know that they can come to me for anything and that I will be there to help them through anything.  I plan on teaching math and I want to have a lot of hands on activities and group work.  The need to learn to work together and become comfortable working with someone that they may not know.  I want them to be able to walk out of the classroom full of knowledge and want to come back and learn more.  I also plan on having an interactive bulletin board where the students can interact with each other on certain activities.  I also want the students to be involved in their learning process.  I am open to any ideas that they might have towards an activity or something that they may want to learn more about.  Through all this I will still run a smooth operating classroom where I am still the teacher and there will be certain procedures and routines.  The students will learn to respect me due to the respect that I show them.  I hope to set a good role model for these students and hope that they will learn from me.  I know that I will definately learn from them because these students are smarter than we give them credit for.
Some positive expectations for my students would be to always work hard, respect yourself and others, strive to be anything that you want to be and to NEVER give up.  If you want something then you have to do what it takes to achieve it.
