In the summers, the Sisters would drag their playpens out to their Folks' small farm in Norfolk County (bet you kids thought that was Chesapeake, didn't you?), and we'd have a ball with fried chicken (with real, kill-it-yourself chickens), baseball, horse shoes, whole horses, swings, trees, the barn and that green tractor with the kid-hauling trailer, that awful-tasting water and the clankety pump, corn growing right up from the ground, piggies in a pen halfway back through the cornfield, and granddaddy's hip boots to wade in the ditch, and go-carts, and ...
In short, more fun than us city kids had a right to expect. It had an unexpected (or maybe the Sisters expected it) effect - it bonded us together - we still like each other, and that's why we do the reunion every year (well - that and the free food).
Of course, from the Sisters' perspective, I suppose it all could have happened long ago, in a galaxy far, far away ...
