An American tropical animal
This is an albino alligator. It was an exhibit in the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk Connecticut USA back in May 2012. It was otherwise a regular alligator but it was completely white. Like all albino animals the alligator also had the pink-red hue to its eyes, otherwise it would have been blind. The pictures were taken when I went to see the alligator because it was very interesting. They are very rare after all. There are only about 100 left relatively making them endangered or even labelled as extinct.
The alligator that they had on display was eight feet long, weighing in at about 125-150 pounds and he was about twelve years old. Under the facts about the alligator they had they also had a little information about albino alligators in general to show he fit into the average rather well and so he was healthy and being taken care of well.
