In February JCJC's basketball team hosted a
Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Beverly Messemore & Ramona
Walters were named honorary captains for the girls and boys
team. The girls team all wore pink uniforms and they had a
silent auction for their jerseys and raised $800. They also
sold the pink t-shirts that everyone else (cheerleaders, dance
team, fans, etc.) were wearing. Altogether they raised over
$1,000 for breast cancer awareness. Both the girls and boys
teams went on to win the State Championship this year.
