Ann Guy completed a hand carved
full size carousel horse in August of 2007. The project
began years earlier in February 2002 when she was visiting
Chattanooga and had the good fortune to meet Bud Ellis.
Bud is a retired art teacher from the University of Tennessee
and runs the only carousel animal carving school in the
country, Horsin' Around. Bud has been featured in a TV
episode on the
DIY Network. Ann began to research the different
horses and decided on her pattern in 2003. As a
Mississippi native, she added magnolias to decorate the
forehead, harness and saddle and named her horse Maggie.
