| Common Names: Common Tansy, Bitter Buttons, Cow Bitter, Mugwort, Golden Buttons. Flowers: Yellow, round, described as "button-like". Leaves: Alternate, 10-15 cm. long, and are lobed with saw-toothed edges. Leaves have a fern-like appearance. Stem: Stout, slightly red, strong, smooth, branches near the top. Height: 24-36 inches. Habitat: Found in Europe and most of the United States and southern Canada. In some parts of the United States, this plant is considered a weed. Found in meadows, along bodies of water (rivers and streams), places of waste, along fences and railroad tracks. |
