| Common Names: Dwarf Willow, Least Willow, Snowbed Willow. Leaves: Round, very shiny, and bright green. 1-2 cm long, broad shaped. Flowers: Dioecious - male and female flowers (catkins) are on separate plants. As a result, the plants appearance varies; female catkins are red and male catkins are yellow. Stem: Short and thin. Height: 1-6 centimeters (round). Habitat: Found in wide range on both sides of the North Atlantic Ocean, arctic southwest Asia, northern Europe, eastern Canada. This plant has adapted to survive harsh environments and can also be found in tundra, rocky moorland, and wet marshlands. |
