Flower: In the upper part of the plant, 1-6 flowers develop from an axils of the opposite leaves.These tubular flowers are pale blue to blue-violet, often with vertical streaks of purple, green or white.

Leaves: Opposite and ovate. They have smooth margins, a prominent central vein, and are hairless.Each leaf is around 3 1/2 inches long, and 1 1/2 inches wide.

Stem: The light green or reddish central stem is slender and smooth.

Height: 6-12 inches.

Habitat: Habitats include moist forests,sand praries, and
thickets.
