In the picture above you can see two guards sitting at the duty desk.The duty desk is located in the left end of the cell department. From there the guard on the shift can have control over the whole block. Besides having control over the prisoners, the guard at the desk also writes up all the visitors on the block and handles all the phone calls that come to the block.
