Medvedenko Shaw EL SEGUNDO, July 26 � The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent Brian Shaw, restricted free agent Stanislav Medvedenko and undrafted rookie, Jannero Pargo it was announced on Friday. Per team policy terms of the agreement were not released. Shaw averaged 2.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 58 games with the Lakers during the 2001-02 season, his third season with Los Angeles. A 13-year veteran, Shaw was 24th overall pick in the 1988 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics out of the University of California-Santa Barbara. Shaw, a member of each of the Lakers last three NBA Championship teams (2000, 2001, 2002) had played for the Celtics, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers prior to joining the Lakers. The 6-6 guard has averaged 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 871 career games. Medvedenko, a 6-10 forward/center was originally signed by the Lakers as a free agent prior to the 2000-01 season and was a member of the Lakers 2001 and 2002 NBA Championship teams. A member of the Ukrainian National Team, Medvedenko became the Lakers first European player since Vlade Divac. Medvedenko averaged career-highs in points (4.7), rebounds (2.2) and minutes played (10.3) in 71 games during the 2001-02 regular season Pargo, a 6-2 guard rookie guard from the University of Arkansas, participated on the Lakers entry in the Dada Summer Pro League where he averaged 11.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 22.4 minutes. Pargo was selected to the All-SEC Third Team as a senior, when he led the Razorbacks in scoring (16.6 points), assists (3.3), three-point field goal percentage (.432) and free throw percentage (.781).
