A 21 year old man is charged with murdering an older man he met on the internet.

Tragically, the worst thing that could happen on an internet hook-up isn't someone not looking anything like their posted picture.

Since it is damned near impossible to determine much about someone's character from a chat room or profile, can anyone provide tips on how to make this type of thing safer?

I would first say to just not do it but, that isn't any fun.
