Azzie stretched, arching her back and then madly scratching her head. She yawned and sat, left leg against her body as her right leg lazily hung off the side of the little hill that her barrel stood on.
As she smiled until a sudden noise came to her attention. She pricked her ears and listened, �Tugger, wake up!� Came her call as she stood up and looked around until she saw some sort of light show and the sound of Pollicles revealed danger.
The Rum Tum Tugger rushed out, scratching his back, �What�s wrong Hun?� he asked briskly, the only response at first was a paw pointed towards the fight. Tugger grabbed her gently, �Get Munku!� Azzie nodded and rushed off as Tugger dashed towards the brawl.
�Why now, why just when I wake up? Please don�t let it Misto!� his mind feverishly repeated as he charged on until he came upon this scene.
Three toms and four Pollicles were fighting. One tom, whose green eyes flashed fire as his black and white fur stood up on end, fought hand-to-hand with a massive Pollicle, swearing and cussing a storm. He has a deep cut on his stomach that was bleeding freely.
The other two who were twins were fighting off the other three. They were magicians it seemed and were doing pretty well until the third Pollicle jumped on the white tom, tearing at him frantically.
Tugger made his move, jumping on the Pollicle and biting his neck. He threw off the Pollicle and helped the tom to his feet.
On first appearance the white tom looked blind but his eyes was only colored gray as lightning bolt designs appeared all over his fur. He smiled weakly to Tugger, �Aye, I thank ye for the help.�
�Party�s not over yet friend.� Spoke Tugger as he punched another Pollicle as the white tom blasted the one attacking his twin with a powerful blue light. The pollicles soon ran off as the black and white one laughed, throwing a mud clot, at them, �Yea, run ya cowards!�
�Get over here boy, you�re bleeding!� spoke a smokey-gray tom with lightning marks over his body spoke to the other tom as his hand began to glow a bright green.
�It�s just a scratch, those damn dogs never dig to deep!� the young tom laughed, though it was obvious it hurt him.
The gray tom brushed his glowing hands over the other tom�s wound and like magic the wound had disappeared.
After the short victory laughs and healing the gray twin turned to Tugger with a broad smile, �My brother�s and I thank you for coming to our aide. Those nasty devils had been chasing us since we started our journey. I�m Andante,� with this he firmly took Tugger�s hand in a shake. �And,� he continued, �These are my brothers, my twin is Allegro and my other is Adonis.�
The black and white cat, Adonis, leaped forward and grabbed Tugger�s hand in a warrior�s clasp, �Thanks mate for all the help!� he roared his voice rolled out like a thunderstorm as he green eyes twinkled with life.
Last, the blind looking tom Allegro, walked to Tugger and gently grasped his hand, he spoke in Shakespearean tones, �I thank ye for your assistance my friend. What is your name?�
Tugger smiled, �I�m Tugger�Uh�Rum Tum Tugger,� after a few pleasantries Tugger spoke again, �So what is it that you felt the need to battle those bastard pollicles for?�
Adonis smiled weakly as he spoke, �We�ve been searching for our siste-�
�Adonis!� came a voice from behind them as the four of them madly spun around to see Azrelela, her green eyes suddenly sparkling with tears. Munkustrap, Mungojerrie, and Alonzo followed behind.
Immediately the three toms squealed, �Azzie!� as they ran to her, Adonis hugging her tenderly as the twins lifted her up in a hug.
Munku walked over to Tugger and spoke quietly, �Who are they and how do they know Az?� Tugger just shrugged as he watched Azzie laugh and cry as she hugged the three toms with bear hugs, speaking almost in tongues to each of them.
Tugger then walked up to Azzie, �You�know these guys?�
Azzie turned to her mate with a big grin on her face, she wiped her green eyes, �Of course I know them they�re my brothers!�
At first Tugger just looked at the grown toms he had just helped out of a battle. Could they really be his little fragile Azzie�s relatives?
As Tugger watched them Munkustrap walked forward and cleared his throat, �Well, I�m Munkustrap; protector of the Jellicle tribe here in the junkyard. You�re welcome to join us for a while.�
Allegro spoke for them, arm around his sister�s waist, �Aye, we�d be honored sir.�
�Then it�s settled, come friends.� Answered Munkustrap as they all ventured to the Junkyard.
Eyes of cats everywhere fell upon the newcomers as they chatted excitedly with their sister as she held Tugger�s paw securely in hers.
�So young Azzie, This is your home now?� asked Adonis as he twirled his sister�s head fur.
Azzie laughed as she gave her brother a noogie, ��Young Azzie�? Your younger then I am you goof!� she laughed again as they started a quick fight.
Andante laughed along with his twin and Tugger, �Am I gonna have to separate you two?� Andante spoke as he and Tugger grabbed a cat. Tugger kissed Azrelela�s cheek and she calmed, blushing slightly at him kissing her in front of her brothers but took comfort in their silence. She answered Adonis� first remark, �Yes Adonis, this in my new home. I became a Jellicle just a little under a year ago. I even have my own home,� at this she pointed to her barrel up on the hill.
�So Adonis, have you and Aida had your litter yet?� Azzie quickly changed the subject as they sat comfortably on the tire.
Adonis� smile spread over his face like a Cheshire cat grin, �Yea, three of them, two tom�s and a queen. The boys are twins that look like Aida, gray with silver and white stripes all over them. They�re Fritz and Twilight. Then my baby girl, she�s colored with a white body, black tail, peach patches and a black patch over her left eye. She�s called Demetra. She�s my sun and stars she is.�
Azzie smiled and made a quick giggle, �Huh�I have a niece and nephews. You�ll have to bring them sometime Little Brother.� She smiled
Adonis smiled, �I will I promise.�
Suddenly three young toms tumbled from the top of the junkyard, laughing and yelling to each other until a faint silver light emitted from the tuxedo cat, Mistoffolees, paws to softened their fall.
Tumblebrutus and Pouncival laughed until they saw the imposing toms staring at them. Misto stared at Allegro and Andante with an opened mouth as he pointed a shaking paw at them, �You-You�re Allegro and Andante�you�re the famous magicians!�
Allegro and Andante smiled to each other and nodded back to Misto. �Aye,� answered Allegro, �And I wager you�re a magician too. That was some handy work with you magic catching you and your friends.�
�What�s your name young one?� asked Andante as he smiled to Misto as from the corner of his eye her spotted a few young queens looking at them in adoration.
�I�m Mistoffolees sir.� He smiled to them both with sparkling eyes.
�A nice name Mistoffolees, excuse me would you?� He smiled quickly and snapped his fingers, disappearing in a flash of blue light only to appear next to the spying queens, Rumpleteazer, Etcetera, Victoria, and Jemima.
The four queens turned around to stare up into Andante�s deep blue eyes. Andante said nothing but closed his left paw and put it on top of Rumpleteazer�s as a brilliant silver mist was seen. After he removed his hand there was a beautiful flower sparkling with all the different colors of the rainbow.
Teazer looked up to Andante, a bright blush flourished over her cheeks as he gently bent down and kissed her paw. Andante bent back up and smiled brilliantly to the other queens as he walked away back to his brothers and sister.
Azrelela smiled, �He reminds me a lot of you love,� she held Tugger�s hand, �He has that special charm.�
After charming the queens and making a deal to help Misto with some magic tricks, the sun had disappeared and they all retired to Azzie�s barrel on top of the small hill.
�So,� Azzie asked Allegro after the other boys had gone outside to chat of other things, �Have you�found Aries yet?�
The handsome tom shook his head, �No�not since you left�I think Macavity must�ve�� he didn�t dare finish his sentence because he knew his sister would cry. He just grabbed her and hugged her as tight as he could. Even though he was the eldest he couldn�t protect his young brother Aries from the claws of Macavity.
�Damn you Macavity. If you killed him I will find you�you will never hurt anymore of my family. Not like you killed our parents or maybe our�brother.�
After a while the others came back in and everyone said their goodnights. Azrelela and Tugger would stay at his place while her brother�s would sleep at her house.
Tugger laid down and stretched as Azzie laid down on his stomach. �You have some nice brothers Az.� Tugger whispered as he gently smoothed the fur on her head.
Azzie just answered, �Yea�I love you Tug.� As she purred gently into his stomach and closed her eyes, �At least I�ll never lose you my funny friend.� She thought as she drifted away.
Tugger leaned down and kissed her head and closed his own eyes, for now: Life was beautiful as long as she was in it.
