If you ever do get the chance to go to Mount Rainier in the winter make sure of 2 things: first, that you have chains on your tires; second, that you go snowshoeing.
I'll never forget stopping by a little baby looking tree that was just poking out of the snow and asking our guide how tall the tree really was. He said "Fourteen feet, that's just the top." (Make sure you stay on the packed snow, don't want to be falling in any airholes!)
Try to get the guide that lets you slide down the hills sitting on the backs of the snowshoes. He says they're not supposed to let you do it and that's half the fun.
