Blade breakers...
back
The blade breakers have bit-beasts that are based around the lengends of the four Guardian Gods of ancient China, The blue dragon, the black turtle, the white tiger and the red sparrow.
Dragoon - Seiryu the blue dragon, God of the East

Seiryu is the god of the east in ancient chinese lore and Seiryu was said to have a body surrounded by storms and fog.  Often depicted with blue, green or Aqaua (to be more specific) scales the colours are said to represent the vitatliy of the land during spring.  Many of the chinese legends based around him say he was responsible for bringing the hurricanes and storms the chinese sometimes get every year at spring.  It is said that each year the dragon gods (or just Seiryu) would travel from the earth to the clouds or vice versa depending on
Dranzer - Suzaku the red sparrow, God of the South

Also God of birds (which must a lonely job as the chinese have killed all but a few species off in China!).  Said to reflect in its feathers the five mystic colours, White, Black, Red, Blue and Green.  Represents Passion, anger and the heat of summer.  Very simuluar to the phoenix of other legends.  Also I was told Suzaku is a girl on the Fierce board (see links page and fierce Kai site for the location of the fierce board) and Dranzer does look kinda like a girl -but his not as far as we all are aware!  Suzaku (which is a mouthful to say!)
Driger - Byakko the white tiger, God of the west

Represent Strength and the competive spirit and also of the Earth.  A grain of crop is said to reflect Byakko's light as the sun's rays hit it.  Represents also Autumn and healing (which is why Tiger bones are said to have healing powers!).  It is that white tigers like Byakko live for 500 years.  Also to the chinese it is the tiger not the lion who is king of the jungle!
Draceil  - Genbu the black turtle, God of the North

King of all shellfish! Represents night, death, winter and the desire for protection.  Said to be the combitation of when a turtle and snake (which draceil is missing!) join together for the same cause/goal?!
is a symbol of the royal family just like Seiryu and therefore pictures of her are very rare.  Often depicted like a peacock and was properly based on a real bird or something.

Also Suzaku appears before one virtuous indivdual every 60 years and chooses that person as her choosen one (what for I don't know).  I estimate there is 60 years between Kai and his grandfather...
which interpretation you read.  The dragon is one of the most reconisable of the chinese legends and is said to represent the warrior and a strong man.  Only the most high classed citizens would wear the dragon on them and one Emperor even claimed to be desended from dragons to get on the throne because hee came from a poor farmers back ground.  The dragon the emperor used from then on to represent his family was a dragon with a certain amount of claws... I think it was either 4 or 5... I'll look it up again!
