| MONTREAL - Patrick Bourque, former bass player for Canadian country music band Emerson Drive, has died suddenly at his home, the band's publicist announced Wednesday [9/26/2007]. Emerson Drive was originally known as 12 Gauge when it started out in Grande Prairie, Alta., in 1995. The band chnged its name after learning there was a rap band in the United States witht he same handle. Bourque resigned from the band in August 2007 and had been living and working in Canada since then, said Vanessa Parker-Davis, president and owner of Splash! Public Relations. There were no immediate details about his death, she said. Other Emerson Drive members found out about Bourque's passing early this morning [9/26/07] while on the way to a show in Nebraska and are "shocked and grieving," according to a statement on the band's website. -Curtosey of - Find-A-Grave.com |
