My Human Responsibility

Well, I have lost five friends in the world trade center so far...And I wonder how many more...I am sad and angry, but I'm working with the community to help out as much as possible--NYC is a complete warzone...I guess I found my 'real' calling, as a NY State counselor in crisis and grief counseling and am doing whatever I can do -- for my neighbors, myself, my local firefighters (--grief and crisis individual counseling each nite) and I'm lighting lots of candles and praying for my five missing friends and neighbors -- I'm just doing my human responsibility -- it's a war and it's MY CITY. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and my family not only worked as public and civic servants, but they

taught me to help and care for my neighbors (and to take care of myself). I'm so sad and angry...but, I'm doing whatever PROACTIVE thing I can do, instead of going into shock watching it on TV--

But even inthe face of war and sorrow, WE MUST ALL KEEP LIVING AND MOVING AND WE MUST HELP OUR FELLOW NEIGHBORS. WE MUST MOVE FORWARD, AS DIFFICULT AS IT MAY BE...GETTING BACK INTO THE GROVE OF OUR DAILY LIFE IS SO IMPORTANT FOR OUR MIND, BODY AND SOUL. But nver turn your back on a neighbor in need.

Please write to me as much as possible, just to help me keep moving forward -- thanks.

May God bless NYC, our Firefighters, our friends and our family.

We must be brave and we can never give up on our leaders, our city, our country, or

ourselves.

with love, Lisa
