MESSAGE OF THE DAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I woke this morning and listened to the traffic report
on the
radio, I could hear that there was a traffic accident
on one of the
main thoroughfares and everything was being re-routed
elsewhere. I
started thinking then about the people in that car accident
and how
quickly life can change in a few moments. Shall we say
"in a
New York minute".
Then I got to thinking about the moments just before the
world
came crashing down around 50,000 some odd people starting
their day
at the office. The relationships that existed; the secretary
that
resented her boss, the battles between staff members
for promotions,
or possibly even the relationship blossoming between
two colleagues.
And then - their world came down. Some didn't have a second
thought before it was all over. Others - possibly a chance
look
across the room at each other in that frozen moment when
suddenly
none of those trials or tribulations mattered anymore.
For each person whose time here was brought to an end,
I hope
life's journey was a good one and ultimately, I hope
that the
lesson in all this is not lost.
