"Dear God, They're Asking Why"
Dear God, they're asking how I know Ten Thousand Angels came.
They're asking how I know, for sure, that you are not to blame.
They're asking why this happened, if you're so full of love.
They're asking how I know, some rode the wings of a dove.
They're asking why you took our people, in such a horrendous way.
They're asking why you weren't there, on that fearful, fateful day.
They're asking why some had to die, while others were set free.
They're asking why the children died, just why it had to be.
They're asking why the rescuers, have to see this horrid sight.
They're asking why our soldiers, must go away and fight.
They're asking why our canines, are forced to go and find,
The empty shells of bodies, that fate has left behind.
They're asking why our freedom ,has been taken temporarily,
They're asking why Bin Laden, came to this insanity.
They're asking why the Pentagon, was taken from our midst.
They're asking why the towers, once straight, now bend and twist.
They're asking why the heroes, aboard the Pittsburg plane,
Had to make a choice that day, Why can't I just explain?
That we never really owned these sould, they were here on a loan.
They always belonged to you, and you have called them home.
Amidst all the confusion, the sweat, the blood, the tears,
There's only one thing we can do, to rid us of our fears,
Reach out to you and trust you, is all that we can do,
And pray your will be done, and try not to question you.
How do I know the angels came, and that your doves were sent?
How do I know you even saw, the tears, the cries, the torment?
All I can say is by your grace, I know that you were there.
How do I know? I can only tell them, I jsut felt you in the air.
May God rest each of our souls, and bless America.
