The Children I Call Mine - Merrie Maurer

God gave a lot of burdens to carry
and a lot of bad times to make it through;
He caused a lot of tears to fall
but then he gave me you.
You are my sunshine after all of the rain.
you are my greatest joy and my richest gain.
You are the courage that makes me go on
when I feel weak, you make me strong.
It's never been easy and I don't have a lot
as a matter of fact you're all that I've got.
But you are all in this life that I'll ever need
So I thank God for his most precious deed.
For knowing that I'd need some children
to give my love
and sending you down to me
from the heavens above.
And so I thank God for his one ray of sunshine
and that's the children I call mine.
