Not Tonight...I Have A Headache!
This is a book I'm in the process of writing, which is about a twenty year
battle I had to endure and suffer through with the crippling and unforgiving
migraine headache!
During this pretty bleak part of my life: I was nearly homeless on several
occasions; was a temporary worker for over a decade; without a vehicle for seven
years; over 250 medical visits for one thing or another; hospitalized for
bleeding ulcers (aspirin intake); contacted
tuberculosis; pneumonia; lost my VA Educational Benefits; weight loss (under 120
pounds); memory loss; slow learner; suicide attempt; didn't get a credit card
until I was 38 years old ...etc...etc...etc...
What got me through it all?
Probably faith in the Lord; perseverance/determination; positive
thinking and humor. After I won the long battle with the migraines, and had to
endure job layoffs, I wrote the following poem:
"Thanksgiving"
I am so proud and grateful to have come through all of this, and
