YES, I WOULD ~ IF I COULD.....Donna Wallace
IF I COULD......
If I could I would pick up your pieces and make you whole,
Breathe new life into your spirit, and heart and soul.
I would find the missing pieces and I'd make you good as new,
I would heal your broken heart, and re-mold your life anew.
YES I WOULD.....
I would wash away the memories of all your broken hearts,
I would make you just as brand new as at your very start.
I would take away the memories that keep you awake at night,
I would somehow make you forget all the abuse and all the fights.
IF I COULD....
I would bring you from the throes of despair to Heaven's door,
And you wouldn't own fear or any of your demons anymore.
If I could hypnotize your baby blues and make you just forget,
I would replace your reality with a fantasy with nothing to regret.
YES I WOULD.....
I would hold you in my loving arms and, darling, never let you go,
I would protect you from all the horrors you have come to know.
I would sail with you on the great blue sea, let no other near,
Replace your memories of abuse with rainbows which appear.
IF I COULD.....
If I could I'd paint you rainbows even through your darkest storm,
If I could I'd always be beside you, to keep you safe and warm.
If I could I'd paint you watercolors, fill your world with just pastels,
If I could I'd show you Heaven and make you forget all about your Hell.
YES I WOULD.....
Yes, I would do everything a human soul could ever do for you,
Patiently and slowly I would show you that my love is strong and true.
Yes, I would prove a little more each day how strong my feelings are,
And perhaps one day you'd wake up whole, I only know sweetheart.....
YES, I WOULD ~ IF I COULD.....
