The Day Our Flag Cried

I saw a sight today I thought I would never see.

Our Nation's Flag was crying tears for you and me.

O Glory was flying half mast, weighted down with Liberty.

As the nation moans we hear the words My Country Tis of Thee.

Our stars and strips are crying red for the innocents that are gone.

We mourn our loss and we ask "why" but the answers are unknown.

Our loss is great. We feel the pain but we will overcome.

The land of the free will stand to see the rising sun.

Yes, our Flag cried today. It covered our heroes in tears.

Our innocence was lost, but we will go on. America will not live in fear.

She's flying high again for all the world to see.

She is lifted high and flying, held up with Liberty.
