All heading to the latrine to wash up before going to the dorm for some much needed rest. All stopped short hearing sobs coming from the day room. " I wonder who that could be?" Stanley asked heading for the day room as his crew followed. Seeing Tricks sitting on the couch with her head in her hands sobbing Johnny started walking over to her. "Tricks what's the matter." Johnny needed to know At first look at Johnny Tricks leaped from the couch. exposing her blackened eye" Oh thank God you're back." She sobbed "Tricks what happened, are you okay?" Johnny asked worriedly "I'm fine.....It's.....it's Nicci." She said in between sobs At the first sound of her name Johnny feared the worst." What about Nicci , where is she?" He demanded. Looking at the look on her face, Johnny he could tell that it wasn't good news. But still he needed to hear what she had to say "Tricks you have to tell me." "Oh Mr. Gage, something horrible has happened. Knuckles, Knuckles found out she was pregnant." She stopped letting out a sob." I guess what happened is earlier Nicci turned a trick for one of Knuckles homies and he told Knuckles that Nicci wasn't a bad fuck considering she was pregnant. Anyway Knuckles was furious and.......and........" She stopped hanging her head down Grabbing onto her arms he demanded " Tricks what, what did he do, you have to tell me." "He and his losers fucked her then they kicked the shit out of her, I saw her tonight in the coffin about an twenty minutes ago and she was hurt real bad, worst then what I've ever seen before and .......she..........was crying, She's so terrified she wouldn't let me near her. When I tried to get close to her she decked me." She said pointing to her darkened eye. "Where, can you show us where she is?" Stanley asked flooded with fear. "Yes I can , but there is something you need to know. after she hit me, I heard her say that it didn't matter anymore and that she folds. whetever that meant, anyway she said that she was sorry to you and the baby." She finished With fear going straight to the depths of their souls the guys scurried to the vehicles" Ms. you ride in the squad and show us where." Captain Stanley ordered then getting on the radio to dispatch " LA we have a still alarm location is unknown at this time please stand by for further information." Stanley announced into the mic "10- 4 Station 51, time out 12:27" ................ With sirens blasting the engine and squad Rolled to a stop "There that's the coffin, it's called a coffin because of the way it's shaped." Tricks said pointing at a dark alley. Climbing out of the squad Roy and Johnny headed straight to the alley "Mike I want you to call it in and get a hold of Lieutenant Crockett. Chet, Marco grab a couple of flash lights and come with us." Stanley ordered With the flash lights being the only souce of light they walked down the alley. All stopping short at the sight of Nicci. As for Johnny his heart broke seeing her huttled in a corner wimpering out in fear. Slowly walking up closer he could see blood streaming down her arm as she held the piece of glass tightly in the palm of her hand as her tiny body trembled. Crounching down next to her he whispered. " Nicci it's me Johnny." While the rest them walked up. Without a response he whispered " Nicci.." While placing his hand gently on her head At first touch she drew her knees tighter to her chest. " Please no more." She whimpered in fear pushing his hand away "Nicci.please don't be scared." Johnny soothed." No ones going to hurt you." " NO GET AWAY FROM ME." She demanded raising her bloody hand to shield herself from harm."Please just, just go." She whimpered Seeing that Johnny was having trouble, Roy walked up to help. " Nicci we're here to help you." Roy said trying to take her by the arm Feeling danger she raised her hand holding the glass cutting Roy in the face in deffence,making Roy jump back holding his cheek in pain." I SAID GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME." Nicci cried out hysterically rocking her withdrawn body back and forth As Johnny examined her, it was clear to him that she was very frightened of all of them including himself. Although it was breaking his heart he thought it best to back off and not to push her. Getting up he walked back to the others." You okay Roy?" Johnny asked worriedly "Yeah I'm fine, just a scratch." Roy assured Looking over to Nicci, Johnny watched as she shook uncontrollably. Then looking at his Captain he said " I don't know what to do Cap, she's so terrified of us it's like she don't even know who we are. She don't even know who I am." Johnny said looking back over to Nicci, " Well we can't do nothing for her here, we need to get her out so that she can be treated." Stanley said then studying the situation he gathered his men together. " Okay here's what we'll do." He started " Mike, you go to the squad and lay a blanket down on the ground, Chet you and Marco get the equipment set up." He ordered before turning his attention to Johnny and Roy. " Roy you get on one side and Johnny you get on the other, I'll grab her feet. Now I don't have to tell you she is terrified and there's no dout she'll put up a fight so we have to be ready." Captain said Following their Captains orders, Johnny and Roy got on each side of her while Stanley got down at her feet. On the count of three they scooped her up in their arms being carefull not to cause injury to her or the baby knowing that she was in danger of miscarry. As Stanley predicted Nicci started screaming "NO NO NO LEAVE ME ALONE." while thrashing her tiny body as they carried her out to the waiting blanket, while being greeted by Lieutenant Crockett "Is this Ms. Rogers?" Crockett said being stuned by her actions "Yes it is now excuse me." Stanley interupted pushing his way through Tricks gasped at the sight of her friend." Nicci." she cried while running over to her being stopped by Chet "No I need to be with her." "No let them do their job, Nicci will be just fine." Chet assured holding Tricks tight in his arms for comfort. Laying her on the blanket she immediately went to her side drawing her knees tightly to her chest,crying hysterically while her body continued to shake. " Nicci it's okay." Johnny soothed taking every bit of strenght he had to calm her as well as himself. He knew in his heart that he had to remain strong not just for him but for her and his unborn child as well " It really is okay." He assured placing a hand on her head. Feeling something sticky he removed his hand letting out a gasp finding blood on his hand. " Oh Nicci." He said softly. "I'll get her BP."Roy said picking up the bp cuff. At the touch of Roy Nicci jerked her arm away." No please don't." She sobbed in hysterics Seeing that she was frightened of him he pulled back. The last thing he wanted to do is frighten her more." Lets contact Rampart and see what they want us to do, We can't bo anything until she calms down." He said reaching for the biophone. "Rampart this is county 51, how do you read." Roy spoke into the receiver " Go ahead 51, we read you loud and clear." Brackett responded "Rampart we have a female approximatlly twenty three years of age who has been serverely beaten, Victim has numerous laserations and contuions on her face,the palm of her hand and has a deep laseration on the back of her head The victim is also seven months pregnant Rampart and there is sign of vaginal bleeding. "51 do you have a set of vitals. " "Negative Rampart, the victim is to distraught at this time "51 we need the vitals to accurately treat her, try to calm her and keep me posted." Brackett said being able to hear her screams from the other end Looking down at Nicci Johnny didn't know what to do. He knew that Brackett was right." Half Pint I want you to calm down. Do you hear me half Pint, I want you to listen to me." Johnny whispered as he started to sing" Earth Angel, Earth Angel will you be mine, My darling dear. Love you for all time. I'm just a fool a fool in love with you." Johnny continued while stroking her blood stained hair. Listening to his voice she looked at him then reached her hand up " Hi Johnny." She softly "Hi Half Pint.." Johnny whispered then taking her hand in his, he gently kissed her fingers " God I missed you." Allowing the words to escape his lips. Seeing that she was calming down, Roy got her vitals and relayed them to Rampart. Rampart in turn gave the go ahead to start an IV Suddenly without warning she cried out in pain." Johnny it hurts, it hurts Johnny" while grabbing her stomach. "Rampart the victim is now complaining of pains in the abdomen, and the bleeding is now more evident." Roy announced concerned for the baby. "10-4 51 get ready for a premature birth we will stand by with the needed epuipment. " Cap, you want to get the OB box? Johnny we need to turn her on back so that we can check her." Roy finished. Laying her on her back Johnny let out a gasp seeing all the dark bruises and welts on her fragile stomach "Oh my God, what kind of a monster is this person." Stanley said as he and the rest wittnessed the marks. Suddenly without warning Tricks let out a deafening scream "WATCH OUT, HE'S GOT A GUN!!!!!!!." Seeing Knuckles and his goons running towards the scene. Before anyone could react, Knuckles grabbed Johnny by the back of the neck shoving him into the Captain and the rest of the men. " YOU TO, GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER." Knuclkes demanded pointing the gun at Roy. Roy had no choice but to obey. Then grabbing Nicci by the hair he pulled her in his arms holding her tightly by the throat. " OKAY NOBODY MOVE OR I SWARE TO GOD I'LL KILL THIS BITCH AND HER FUCKING HALF BREED BASTURD RIGHT HERE." Knuckles warned pointing the gun at Nicci's head "JUST GO AHEAD AND KILL ME. I'D RATHER BE DEAD THEN TO SPEND ANOTHER SECOND WITH YOU." Nicci cried holding her stomach. the blood now gushing from between her legs "SHUT UP BITCH." Knuckles demanded hitting Nicci in the head with the barrel repeatedly until blood streamed down the side of her face "Okay now no body panic." Crockett said resting his hand on his piece ready for anything. Then ripping her shirt off Knuckles revealed her black and blue chest to the guys infront of her. Then clutching onto her breast her brutally squeezed it causing her to cry out." Yeah you like that don't you bitch,yeah and the guys like it too. You are nothing but a good piece of ass you dirty rotten whore."Knuckles said coldly grinning at her." I bet your butt fucking fireman liked it when I fucked you in front of him and his buddy." Knuckles ended in laughter. Seeing the girl he loved being disgraced by this man was more then what Johnny could take. Feeling all his anger surface he blew. "STOP IT KNUCKLES YOU LEAVE HER ALONE." Johnny demanded. "Oh you think you're big enough to stop me Pretty Boy?" Knuckles challenged " I can't fight you I'm on duty, but trust me nothing would make me happier then to knock the shit out of you right now." Johnny said taking a step to Knuckles Shoving Nicci hard into the ground, Knuckles then walked up to Johnny. "Oh is that right." Knuckles said pushing Johnny back. Then looking over at Nicci Knuckles saw that Mike was trying to help her get to the saftey of the crowd. "DON'T EVEN FUCKING TOUCH HER OR I SWARE TO GOD I'LL KILL YA." Knuckles warned pointing the gun to Mike. "You're crazy, you're going to kill, you know that." Mike said in protest inching his way to Nicci Cocking the hammer back Knuckles fired a shot coming within inches between Nicci and Mike making the rest cry out in fear." I MEAN IT GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HER." Knuckles spit At that point Mike and the rest felt helpless, They knew that someone would die tonight. They could only stand back and watch in horror and hope for the best Johnny stared at Knuckles every ounce of his face lined with anger.More angery then he had ever felt in his life. For just a moment he looked at Nicci, She was now sitting in a pool of blood and he knew that if she didn't get medical attention it would not be long before she bled to death . Looking back at Knuckles Johnny spoke. " Knuckles I don't know what makes you tick but if you really want to kill her then do it but you might as well kill me to because rather we're dead or alive we'll always be together." Johnny said knowing that Knuckles had upper hand cause of the gun he was holding but still Johnny didn't care. He meant it when he said he would die for Nicci Johnny and Knuckles stood there in silence for what seemed like a life time starring into each others eyes both filled with complete rage until a loud noice broke the silence. When Knuckles turned his head to see what the noice was, Johnny saw his chance and grabbed Knuckles arm to try to get the gun away from him. As Knuckles faught to keep control Johnny fell back taking Knuckles down with him. While they struggled for the upper hand the gun went off sending everyone into a state of panic. Hearing the gun fire, Nicci ignored her pain and used every bit of strenght she had left to crawl over to Johnny. " NO JOHNNY OH GOD NO........" She cried seeing the blood spot forming on his shirt " Oh God why did you go and get shot for me." She cried After a few moments Johnny slid out from under Knuckles" Nicci I'm okay." He said pulling her in his arms while Roy ran to Knuckles "Son of a fucking bitch I'm shot." Knuckles gasped laying on the ground bleeding to death. " Hey Pretty Boy." Knuckles strangled out gaging on his blood Johnny crawled over to Knuckles to see what he wanted. "You son of a bitch you were surpose to be the one to die." Knuckles said fighting for his last breath "Yeah maybe that's true, but you see there's a differance between you and I. If I died it would have been with honor." Johnny said looking into the soul of the dieing man "Go to hell." Knuckles faught "You first, and when you do get there tell them John Gage sent you." Johnny concluded After Roy announced Knuckles was dead he quickly turned his attention to Nicci Getting up from the ground Johnny was congradulated by his friends for they were relieved of the out come of the show down. Johnny stopped and walked over at Knuckles gangs. As he looked into there eyes he could see for the first time these were not men but scared and lost little boys. There leader was dead and they had no one else to turn to . With those thoughts, Johnny began to speak." Is this what you want in your life? I mean you guys have so many good years ahead of you, are you willing to throw them away like he did?." None of them had an answer but they knew that the man in front of them was making sence. Through tears Blade spoke. " Mr Gage , We are so sorry for what we did and I know that you will never forgive us but believe me when I say I'm sorry." Blade finished hanging his head. " Blade I do forgive you, if Jesus can forgive the worlds sins then I can forgive yours . But I will never forget." Johnny said "Mr. Gage," Shaggy spoke." I know we don't deserve help but we know that you helped Nicci get clean and helped her get her life back, the life that we took away.but I wonder if........if you would do the same for us." Shaggy stuttered in a whisper afraid to be turned down "Yes I'll help you." Johnny said shaking each of their hands as the police placed hand cuffs around each of their wrists. TBC |
