When preparing your shower be sure to put backing anywhere that the hotmop is to go, including the seat, bench, pony wall, tub wall, or niche. Plywood is to be set on the floor, which in turn we put a dry pack mortor on the floor to provide the slope that you need in order for the water to drain out. |

Now for the drain you or your plumber have two different choices you can either go with the cast iron or the abs. The drains are callled instant set drains which can be picked up at your local hardware store. Now note to self when installing this drain the bottom flange of the drain should suppost flush with your floor. We will bring the extra quarter inch of the bottom flange up to level with our slope. |

Once the slope is done we can then start the installation of your shower pan. This proccess is repeated three times to the shower stall giving you a nice thick waterproof membrane .
Next the top flange goes down ontop of the membrane and is screwed down to make a tight sandwhich seal. Then each corner gets a nice layer of fiberglass to firm up the corner Once this is done we coat the whole shower with tar. We do however put a gasket in place of a plug if one is not supplied in the drain outlet line, the purpose of this is to test the shower for leaks. So once the shower is complete we fill it up with water. ( we do not shuttle buckets of water ) If a hose is long enough to reach the installation area we will fill it. Most common filling of a shower would be the showers own water supply. |
