Planning the details..
We planned this wedding in 4 1/2 mos. We orginally were going to get married the following May but after a school trip together to Paris January of 1999, we decided that emotionally we were ready and didn't want to wait any longer.
I planned most of all the details by myself.
our colors: periwinkle blue ( like the background on the text) and a peachy like the text up above ( "our wedding")
pew bows at church are periwinkle ribbon
I got the girls dress from JCPenneys. They were Periwinkle blue A-line dresses (sleeveless) with jackets that matched.
The girls had peach and white flower bouquets ...fresh flowers. The men had peach roses on their tuxes. My bouquet was all white and brian's rose was white. You can see both of us in the pics.
My dress I acutally designed in my head a couple of years back and had drawn out. I found a pattern almost exactly like my design so my mom made the dress and added the details. Everything was just how I wanted it.

Our Wedding
The rehearsal dinner:
The wedding party and family of both bride and groom met at an Italian restaurant. We all got to choose from a list of options for the food. We all really enjoyed ourselves and vistited while eating dinner at the restaurant. When we left to go to the rehearsal it was pouring out. I was worried that it would be miserable and rainy the next day on our wedding. We said a quick prayer as we drove to the church that the wedding would go okay. As we got to the church we saw a sign that everything was going to be beautiful..... A double rainbow...our promise from God that he had his hand in our marriage.
August 14, 1999 our wedding  day:
We got up bright and early all us girls after staying up really late laughing and visting. We all got our hair done at the salon I had gone to for years. We headed back to my house to relax and get our make-up ready. My mom had done the wedding flowers as well as made my dress. She took the flowers to the church and started taking the girls.
My two best friends like sisters: Kate and Erin. My college roomate Danielle and Brian's brother's girlfriend Cammy. And Toriahna who was the flower girl/jr bridesmaid, whoI've known since she was a baby. The guys at the church were clowing around and passing time. Brian was upstairs practicing his vows. The guys: his brother Tim, his best man Steve who he'd known since 2nd grade, his close friend Seth, his long time friend Steve. All of our families were there too.
Twelve O'clock noon... the ceremony began with us walking down the aisle and my mother giving me away. All the elements we wanted in a wedding was present.... the communion, the singing worship songs, the scripture readings, the unity candle and the three cords the pastor wound together around our hand symboling our union together and with God, the exchange of personal written vows, the exchange of rings, the kiss and the announcement...we were now husband and wife.... We walked down the aisle and I joyously wiped away the tears of happiness that had been flowing throught the ceremony. The pastor and my mother were also wiping similar tears and the smiles on brians family showed their joy as well. I looked into my beaming husbands face and knew that  this special shining beautiful day would remain in our hearts forever.

Our wedding cake was three layers. The two bottom layers were chocolate and white. The top layer was ours to tuck away for our first anniversary. That was marble. We had white buttercream frosting with basket weave and lily of the valley detailing. On top of the cake was periwinkle blue and peach frosting roses. Our cake top was ivory porcelaine but the cake lady didn't leave room for it when she was decorating the cake so it stood next to our cake.
