Dr: Yeah, it's low but you're very early so its in the right range.
Me : Yeah, my period was due anywhere from Monday to Friday so it might not have even been due until Friday. (blood was taken Monday)
Dr: Well its about right for how far along you are ( I was 4wk when blood taken)
Me: What was the number?
Dr: 140
Me: Really?! That's a pretty good number. I thought it'd be lower.
Dr: Well we can definitely say its on the positive side of the range
Congratulations! I want you to come in for another beta and BP check and then call your OB. Set up an appointment in 2 weeks for your third beta and your first OB appointment. We can schedule your beta either Friday at 3 with another Dr or at 3:45 on Monday with me.
Me: I think Monday sounds better.
Dr: Me too ( with a smile in her voice) See you then!
(end of conversation followed by me breaking into tears of joy)
Telling Brian: I saw this idea back on a board and Brian thought it was really cute. So I knew that this is how I would tell Brian that we were expecting Baby #2. I took a hamburger bun, cut a drinking straw right at the bend, and then taped a little paper sign on the straw: EDD 01/03/05 ( the baby's due date) I put the sign in the bun and then put the "bun in the oven". I put the cookie sheets and pans etc that were stored in the oven on top of the oven. Kade already knew the news and helped me set the scene.
When Brian got home from work I was bathing Kade. I asked him to do me a favor and to quick put the stuff on top of the stove back in the stove for me. I heard the oven door open and then silence. Kade and I were holding back giggles while we listened. Then I heard a chuckle and he came into the room. "Really?!" I told him yes and told him about the conversation with the Dr. He was so happy! We staged some pictures later of how he found out.
