Children under the age of 8 are just plain weird ![]() Funny or weird things my kids did this week: Dayanera stood naked in front of a mirror barking at herself and laughing her butt off. She did this for ten minutes. Weird and funny. LOL Maverick has taken up standing in front of a person and putting his head on the floor to look through his legs at you... he wants to stand on his head because walking upright would just be too normal. LOL. Three times this week, Dayanera has crapped in her pull up, taken it off, and smeared it all over her body. Gross and upsetting at the time, but funny all the same. Maybe I should get her some finger paints instead? LOL. Every time Dayanera gets on our slide, Maverick has to sit on the end of it, so his sister can slide into him, knock him down, make him cry, and Mommy will yell at Dayanera. Mommy is starting to get wise and detect the pattern. LOL. Maverick (who will climb Mount Everest one day, I'm sure) has learned how to climb on my cedar chest, lean out to near falling, scramble on my computer desk, and wedge himself between the monitor and the tower on the top shelf of the desk to reach the shelf attached to the wall above it. I've decided he's like a cat and needs to be in the highest place in the room to observe, either that or he's training to be a monkey in the zoo when he grows up. I"ve decided that my daughter, not only marches to the beat of a different drummer, but that drummer has no discernable beat. She gets weirder every day. For instance, she just cannot eat a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. She has to dissect it first. She'll pull it apart and eat the cheese that is stuck to the ham first. Then she'll eat the cheese stuck to the bread. Then she'll eat the ham and lastly she'll eat the bread. This entire process takes like half an hour and it's only half a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Maybe she'll be a coroner when she grows up? Dayanera took her first pair of "Big Girl" underwear off repeatedly to look at the Dora pictures on them. Mommy decided that maybe she should frame them instead, cause Dayanera certainly isn't ready to actually wear them. I've also decided that karma has a wicked sense of humor. When I was a kid, naked was the way to be. I had a few short years where I wore clothes and then I hit the teen years and really embraced nakedness. LOL. Now I spend all my time trying to keep clothes on my daughter. If I'm not looking at her longer than five minutes, she'll be naked as the day she was born, outside, on the slide or swings. The neighbors probably think we are starting our own nudist daycare. My father's curse is kicking in. I'm doomed to have one just like me. LOL. I wonder what my parents did to get a kid like me? Dayanera has developed a new and interesting habit. Every time she sees my Grandma she tries to push her out the door all the while saying, "Bye! See ya later." LOL. My Grandma thinks it's funny. Since Grandma is her babysitter she figures if she can get rid of Grandma then Mommy and Daddy won't go anywhere. Interesting thought process and watching Dayanera trying to push my Grandma out the door is pretty funny, although I don't laugh cause I really don't want to encourage it. I think my son is developing a foot or shoe fettish. LOL. He gets into the shoes, drags them around the house, plays with them, and likes to look at them. Hmmmm, should I be worried? anyway, just wanted to share some funny things about my kids.
