It's all about.. well.. whatever I feel like it's about that day.
Boredom does odd things to me

Ok, so I'm bored. LOL. And this is something to do. I colored my hair today. I'm blonde again. I like it though. Makes me feel thinner and prettier.. go figure out just coloring your hair can do that for you. I've been every color of the rainbow but the brown hair was making me feel dowdy. Didn't really realize it till I colored it but it's true.

Am feeling weird in my clothes these days too. My body is changing shape with all the exercise but have not lost the weight I want to have lost by this time. Patrick keeps telling me to be patient that your metabolism has to have time to adjust and Dr. Phil says the same thing, but it's hard to be patient. That scale keeps calling my name and I want to weigh myself. And when I do, I'm not happy. sigh. I only have patience for children and animals.. lol.. everything else I want RIGHT NOW!

Have been counting calories lately.. Dr. Phil says you don't really have to but I'm discovering that I do. Without calorie counting I'm less aware of how much I'm eating and how many calories it really contains. Have been keeping caloric intake under 1500 calories, which is ok for me since I am so overweight. But have been eating plenty.. is weird... can eat tons of the right stuff. Like green beans for instance.. a cup of green beans only has like 30 calories... Went to Ryans for dinner with mom and grandma friday night. I was worried about it cause is hard to figure out what you can eat on a buffet.. but I lugged my dr. phil weight solution book with all the calorie info in it and did great. Had steak, green beans, fruit, peas, salad, and one cookie... and only had 1300 calories for that whole day even with that meal. not bad. that meal was only like 400 or so.. can't remember without looking in my food diary.. So am doing alot better.. I'm figuring out that I can have stuff I like or stuff that's on the bad list, you just have to limit it.. Where normally I would have had like 3 cookies, and cake or something I just had one cookie. Pretty good for an addict. LOL.

Anyway, am off to fix supper.. We are having boneless skinless chicken breasts, onion, red potatoes, and kids get sugar-free jello... pretty good meal actually.

Well, I posted that and now I'm editing it.. I did my workout for tonight (3 miles). I bought my walk away the pounds on dvd the other night cause I was annoyed with having to rewind a vhs tape. Wow, this one is different from the one I have. It's a little more difficult and kicked my butt. In the other one, you use this belt with tension tubes attached to it. In this one you use weights (2lbs). This one is more full body than the other one is and I think the pace is faster. Both are good aerobic workouts but I think I like the weights better because I had already started doing a little lifting anyway (nothing near as good as you get in a gym just free weights but still weights). The resistance tube is good but is more for sculpting than for building muscle. The dvd I bought also has a 1 mile and 2 mile on it so I think I'm going to get rid of my 1 and 2 mile tapes. Anyone interested? I think I'll hang on to the 3 mile tape and maybe after I get some of this flab off switch them up. I'm also going to get myself another aerobic work out tape. I have arthritis pretty bad in my right hip and the joint dislocates a bit (had trouble with it real bad when I was pregnant) and the walk away the pounds is real rough on it. I want a dance one, I have a yoga one. Since I'm doing a work out everyday, doing the same ones all the time are getting a little old. LOL. 45 minutes of aerobics every day doing the same moves is really tearing my hip up. I'm going to try out the yoga one next week when I can afford to buy a balancing ball (Dr. Phil's fitness guy says they are a must have) and the tape requires one. And I saw a couple of dance ones at Walmart for 10$ that looked like they'd be fun.

Dayanera was in there with me for the first time tonight and had a blast. LOL. She kept saying, "March, march, march!" She was dancing around and trying to do the arm movements with me. It was really cute, so I think it would be fun to do a dance aerobics dvd with her. Anything to make sweating and moving around more fun and interesting. LOL. Goddess knows I hate it. I just keep telling myself that if I want to look good on graduation day I gotta keep doing it.

BTW, any of you who are interested in those 1 and 2 mile tapes. They are pretty good. I'm doing the three mile because it's more intense but someone who isn't in as bad of shape as I am would really benefit from them. The one mile is about 15 minutes and you will work up a sweat. I did it every day when I was pregnant with Maverick until the hip and psyatica put me in a chair for the remainder of the pregnancy. The two mile, I've actually never done. They came in a 3 pack along with the belt, but you don't need the belt to do the work outs. Have done them without it and it's just as good. Let me know if you are interested in them. Hate for them to go to waste.

Anyway, am surprisingly not tired, but a bit sore. LOL. These tapes are low impact but not zero impact. The funny thing is I'm not sore in the legs like you'd think you would be, am sore in the shoulders. All the arm movements you do with it, are what's making me sore and the weight lifting of course. I will kill that arm fat yet! Flabby underarms can be beat. At least I hope so. LOL. On the plus side.. here's a little fact that might make the women interested.. Did you know that lifting weights is like getting a boob lift? Me either, but it's true. Mine are the ones you have from years of snubbing bras and breastfeeding babies. But these days they are just a bit higher.. LOL.. Can't wait to see how perky they get in a year. If I don't lose another pound, perkier boobs will have made it worth while... LMAO... mmmm, maybe I should put that on a t-shirt? No wonder my husband is so supportive of the weight lifting thing.. Sneaky isn't he?

Well, now that I've written a book and staved off boredom for a while, I guess I should end this before I have to start a volume two. Can't wait to see my friends tomorrow at the Grove.

Blessings,

Natalie/Em
