| Damn, what kind of place is it? Natalie was amazed and interested, she felt as though the place Emily described was a wonderland and she was Alice going down the rabbit hole.
From what I understand, its similar to a castle, but he says its not one. Anyway, there are enough rooms for everyone. I decided I was going to go, have fun, and enjoy myself. Id love it if you went too, we can hang out and chat, do the girly thing we havent done since high school. Do the girly thing since high school. Emily had a way of giving a guilt trip and it was working. Natalie realized she was right though; they hadnt been able to spend a lot of time together without boyfriends, family, or work getting in the way. Especially work. At least not since they were in high school and theyd slept over at each others houses and talked all night about boys, school, teachers and other important stuff. The things that were important to teenagers, the things that were now trivial to adults. Back when life was simple and easy to understand. If you had a question about life, you could ask your parents and they explained everything and put all your doubts to rest, or helped mend broken hearts. When life was simple, people didnt kill those they loved. Back to the days when your father would kiss your cheek and tell you he loved you, and mothers would read you stories at bedtime and tuck you into bed at nights. Natalie really wanted those days back. Natalie didnt know if it was the vodka going to her head, the reminiscing, or being upset over her day, but she was starting to consider Emilys idea. She was beginning to get tired of her everyday life, and thought she needed a change. The trip might be it, a way to clear her head and think of things in a positive manner, and to decide what to do with her life. Time to remember all her dreams and if she was ready to pursue them. So why the hell not? She asked herself. Her suntan needed improving and she hadnt been to the beach since she was a child, and what was better than a beach on a private island? She didnt really care who else or how many people would be there, she could get along with almost anyone. Basically, she could be your best friend or the biggest bitch you knew. Its worked for her this long; she doubted shed change now. She had only questioned Emily to see how much she knew about Cameron and his island. Natalie knew Emily wouldnt purposely put herself in danger, nor would she invite her best friend to go somewhere dangerous. She was still concerned about being on an island with no phones or way to call for help, but she was certain Emily had been right. Surely, Cameron had a way to call for help in case something did happen. Emily had been right when she said Natalie worried too much. She always thought about things too long and eventually talked herself out of everything. She needed to take a risk and this sounded like the perfect opportunity to loosen up and have fun. Hell, maybe she would find herself a man. She had nothing to lose and everything to gain; she may be able to find herself again. She was getting tired of her life, her job, this city, the state, and everything in the middle. She was becoming bitter in life and that bothered her. Looking at the best friend shed ever had, she said. Hell, why not? What do we pack and when do we leave? |
