In regards to nicolas_de_lenfent_vampire
i am forever trapped on this earth?

It is, of course that feeling of despair, which wrences us from the depths. Forever knowing that truth, within ourselves, that we our bound.
Not with ropes or cahins, but reality, and it's endlees mire of logic and the material.
Somthing within ourselves hints at our own inprisonment, yet nothing that is understood.

Eternity is a very long time...
and death comes to us all..
yet still, where is the escape?

I feel somthing similar, yet I do not entirely agree.
None are trapped here forever, and there is always a way out.

As for me, I believe that we experience many many lifetimes (yes, past lives, mock me if you will) ... all the while,
our souls growing and learning.
This continues until we reach a point at which our inner selves comprehend existance as a whole, (not that it means you would consiously ever have access to any of that knowledge).
Then you live a final life, to test your theories, and comprehension, and judge yourself, as to whether you have become what you wanted to be.
Once your soul has reached this point of contentment with itself, you need not return to the mire of despair and hope, love and hate, dreams and fear, that is our world.

The one exeption of course, is if you decide that there is something here which you enjoy, and so choose to stay...
