Day 21
Hebrews 10:16
"This is the covenant I will
make with them. After that time, says the Lord, I will put my laws in their
hearts and I will write them on their minds."
1 Peter 4
1Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has
suffered in his body is done with sin.
2As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil
human desires, but rather for the will of God.
3For you have spent enough time in
the past doing what pagans choose to do--living in debauchery, lust,
drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.
4They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the
same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you.
5But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the
living and the dead.
6For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who
are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the
body, but live according to God in regard to the
spirit.
2 Peter 1
3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and
godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and
goodness.
4Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises,
so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the
corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith
goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;
6and to knowledge, self-control;
and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
7and to
godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will
keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
9But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and
has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
