Dog Biscuits
Ingredients:

3 - 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat
1 cup rye flour
1 cup cornmeal
2 cups cracked wheat (bulgar or burghul)
1/2 cup non-fat dry milk
1 pkg dry yeast
4 tsp salt (or salt substitute or herbs for dogs on salt free diets)
2 cups chicken stock or other liquid
Glaze:
1 egg
1 tbsp milk

Method:

Combine all dry ingredients, except the yeast.  In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.  To this add the chicken stock (you can use bouillion, pan drippings or water from cooked veggies).

Add liquid to dry ingredients.  Kneed mixture for about 3 minutes.  The dough will be quite stiff.  If too stiff, add an egg or extra liquid.

Preheat oven to 300 F.  Roll out the dough on a floured board to 1/2 " thickness and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet and brush with a wash of the 1 egg and 1 tbsp milk.  Cook for 45 minutes.  After that, turn off the oven and leave the biscuits in the oven overnight to get bone hard.
