NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES
There is a story to this recipe. Apparently, as the story goes, a person tasted this cookie at a restaurant. She asked the waiter if she could get the recipe. He said ..."yes for 250" ... she, thinking $2.50 said "just put it on my bill". The bill came and it apparently was $250.00 (plus the actual meal). She kept it after arguing with the waiter over the price - he said she already saw the recipe so therefore she had to pay. She proceeded to send it on to everyone she knew of. So ... here it is and man are they good!!! This recipe can be halved and keep in mind that the amount of cookies will change with the size you make them. This is what makes the difficulty level a bit higher.
Ingredients: 2 cups butter 2 tsp baking soda 5 cups blended oatmeal (measure it and then blend) 2 cups brown sugar 1 8 oz Hershey Bar 2 tsp baking powder 2 tsp vanilla 4 cups flour 2 cups sugar 24 oz of chocolate chips 1 tsp salt 4 eggs 3 cups chopped nuts (I prefer macadamia but pecans or walnuts or almonds are great too) Method: Cream the butter and both sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla then mix together with the flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey Bar and nuts. Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 F. Makes 112 cookies (that is not a misprint).
