06/23/01 11:15PM - I put up a few new pictures. One of me and a few from some other recent events. Other than that, thre's really no news. I went to the zoo today and saw some cute little animals. Hua Mei is going to be leaving the SD Zoo after her third Bday (08/21), so my sis and I are going to have to frequent the zoo in the next coming weeks. Every time my sis and I go to the zoo, we look at the pandas, the hippos, the polar bears, the meercats, and the koalas (in the specific order.) We have a routine all worked out, and it really works quite nicely. Today I paid a visit to the baby animal nursery and to my surprise the zoo had a few feline additions. I'll post those pictures up shortly. In other news, I want to start a LiveJournal account, but need an account creation code to do so. Would anyone like to share theirs with me? I'd eventually just delete my old journals and exclusively post pictures up on this website (now that I have my new toy). I just want to love and be loved. Is that so much to ask??? Apparently it is, but I'm just really asking for a reprieve from my boredom. I need to go find me some new friends to go play with after work! If not, then I'm going to have to find some new and creative ways to keep myself from dying of boredom. 06/19/02 10:30PM - Lan brought her computer saavy friend Michael over to help me figure out my digital camera dilemmas. Thanks Michael. So I burned all of James's pictures onto a CD, and all my other pictures onto a disk and have been sending the informationout to the appropriate people. I'm thinking of loading some of them up on my web page, but realize there's only really a few shots of me with my bad hair and in my PJ's ..sooo... no. Ain't gonna happen. I guess you all will just have to wait for more pictures - but at least I've figured out how to use my camera! Yay! 06/16/02 5:15PM - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! So this morning I woke up early for peter's graduatuion. I left my house (about 15 min away from UCSD) at about 7:15 for his 8:30AM graduation ceremony - to be greeted by 45 min worth of traffic. I sure am glad I left early. I would be S.O.L. had I left a bit later. There was some rude guy behind me honking his horn, giving me the finger, and sativking his tongue out at me - but it's not as if I could do anything to alleviate the gridlock traffic heading into the UCSD parking lot. What a jerk. I felt like keying his car after the cemonoy just for fun, but he had already left. Dammit... Peter actually finished in December of last year, but decided to walk this year at the coaxing of his mother. Of course, he happened to be the very last person in the very last department they announced. grrr... I slapped on some SPF45 this morning before I left, but apparently I missed some spots, because I'm a bit sunburned in a few places. Oh well. It's worth it for a friend. Last week my cute as a button nephew was in town. My sister and her family came down from NYC from the 8th to the 15th- so I was pretty much really busy all week long. I promise to post pictures as soon as I figure out how to upload them from my camera. Some good news for me. I am being offered another promotion at work. Yippee! Now I can get paid more to do the things that I already do. The best part is, I am actually going to get clued into why I'm doing what I do - instead of doing things for the sake of doing things. ...ohhh the responsibility... My friend Erik was in town this weekend for Father's Day and he hung out for a few hours last night. It's nice to have friends to hang out with like that. I kinda miss not having Chad to hang around with all summer 0 but I usually am able to squeeze in a trip to Boston whenever I'm on the East coast. Speaking of which, I wonder how he's doing. I haven't heard from him since I visited in Feb. Hmmm.... I don't know what we're going to do for Father's day - but I've got to go wrap my gift. I suppose we're just going out to dinner. it's usually what we end up doing. 06/03/02 9:30PM - I cannot believe that it's already June. This year has gone by so swiftly. Happy Bday to Mylinh. She turns 23 tomorrow. I had my Bday in March and I still have to think when people ask me how old I am. I really can't believe that I'm 23 already and that next year I'll be 24. Whoa.... I went up to LA again on Saturday for Mylinh's Bday bash. We ended up going to the Mayan night club. Both of us had heard really good thing about this place and we wanted to be sure to check it out at least once. We got there early for their 8PM Salsa Dencing lessons. For some reason, I got stuck in the "advanced" class and was totally bunbling my way thought the entire lesson. Eventually I just introduced myself as "Hello. I'm clumsy. Watch out for your toes." I had taken a Latin dance class my senior year at UCSD, and also gone to one Salsa lesson in SD - but i'm nowhere near coordinated enough to be any good at it. In any case, all a girl really needs is to know "the basic" and to get a really good partner who knows how to lead. Some of the guys who were "advanced" were terrible leaders- and some were good. There was this one guy who was pretty good - but he was very impatient and not quite patient with me. So while he was doing a maneuver, I misread his lead and got him in the jaw with my elbow. In some ways I felt really bad about it, but in other ways- he deserved it and it felt really good. He was rude anyway. He kept yelling at me and was all "hardcore" about doing stuff that was way over my head. Oh well. The Mayan had a BIG salsa stage, a hip-hop room, and a dance/techno room. When people started to fill in for the Salsa room, we migrated towards the hip-hop room. The music was pumping and everything was great until it got WAY TOO CROWDED. There was no room to dance. My friends and I were getting pushed and toseed around, and toes were getting stepped on. So we left at about 12:30AM because it just wasn't fun anymore when you can't dance. Besides, the techno room was just as crowded and they were playing crap up there. Regardless of the early evening - I had fun anyway. My parents oen a beauty salon and we're relocating to another building in the mall tha we are currently at. So all weekend long I was helping with the cleaning and the moving. Also, my sister, her hubby, anf my Nephew are coming next week so I've been cleaning the house too. I'm pretty exhausted already, but i've barely made a dent. Damn.. it's going to be a long, busy week. |
