Momiji Souma is a fifteen years old highschool freshman. He is in rabbit zodiac. He acts like a child much younger than his age. It is to Tohru's surprise knowing he is not an elementary student after sleeping with him in the same room while having a trip to the onsen (Japanese hot spring). He is actually just a year younger than Tohru.

He likes to jump and then hug people from the back. He is a sanguine boy and always plays around with full of energy. However, despite all the smiles on his face, he has a sad relationship with his family. He has a father, mother, and a younger sister. But his mother and his younger sister only know him as a child of his father's friend.

His mother was so shocked when knowing that she gave a birth to an animal. It is because whenever she hugged him, he would transform into a rabbit. She could not accept the fact that Momiji had the rabbit curse and gradually became weak and fell sick. Then, for his mother to recover, Momiji willingly allowed Hatori to erase his mother's memory. So, his mother has even forgotten that she ever had Momiji.

Being cursed in rabbit, he will transform into rabbit when being hugged by female. But in most cases, he is the one who likes to hug, and on one occasion he just run and hug Tohru in her school that Yuki and the others will try to change the focus of attention.
