Arisa Uotani is seventeen years old. Her nickname is "Uo". She is another Tohru's best friend as well as her class-mate. She is a harsh and tough girl but cares for her friend especially Tohru. She is very protective to her.

At school no one dares to annoy Tohru because of her presence. On one occasion, when one of Yuki's girl fans started a problem with Tohru, she then threatened her them while showing on big iron pipe that she brought.

She has a dark past as a member of "Yankee" or Japanese gangsters. When she wanted to be out from the gang, she was almost dead, being beaten up by the other Yankee. But Tohru's mother then saved her and as a result she was also beaten up. Since then, she became Tohru's best friend.

After the death of Tohru's mother, both she and Hana stood in front of the grave; trying to calm Tohru down. They swore to protect Tohru who had become an orphan. And they did keep the promise until the end of the anime.

They were proven as Tohru's best friends. Both really cares for Tohru even if they were on a really different path. That time, Tohru was crying bitterly in the rain in front of her mother's grave after knowing the monster curse that Kyo suffered. Hana insisted Tohru to go while Arisa did not. But they both wanted the best for Tohru. They were really best friends.
